Artist's Comments

When I finish the GDI paint scheme (Or get too lazy to do it) I'll release this as a package of the GDI coloration textures and the Orca model itself. This is meant to be the other personal aircraft of Mobius 1, the legendary ace fighter that you play in Ace Combat 4: Shattered Skies.

This took me about 17 hours to finish. Done in 3D Studio Max and Photoshop 7.

The Orca's engines are able to tilt forward on their own axis 180 degrees forward and backward, giving it immense maneuverability compared to any aircraft of its class. It can outmaneuver a Harrier with ease, although it isn't armed to take airborne vehicles out.

But personally, I'd add some more blue around the cockpit area, and nose.

Render the object in wireframe, save the image, render standard, save, edit both in Photoshop and erase the portions of the shaded model to reveal the wireframe of it. Gives it a sketch like appearance.

I think this is a great picture. I love how you do the rendering to make it look sketched in. It gives it an artsy look and such. I think anyone saying it's crap, is only kidding themselves. n_n; Great job.

I'm not quite certain why, but the ISAF color scheme actually seems to fit right in with the Orca VTOL. :nod: I applaud your skills with 3D Studio Max.
